Shakespeare Sigma 40 Freespool Reel – Black

After the handle on my old shakespeare ganza broke I decided to invest in a new reel after shopping around i was down to the cormoran bull fighter and the shakespeare sigma as the bull fighter had no reviews i played safe And went with the sigma i have used the reel twice so far and I think it’s great value for money and looks nice too. Only down sides were sometimes when striking into a fish when the baitrunner was engagued turning the handle which should disengage the baitrunner made a horrible griding noise like it was half in bait runner mode and half not? But eventually it would sort its self out after a few seconds. The only other issue i have found was when disengaging the baitrunner using the leaver on the back the reel would not go back into its normal mode without reeling. But on the whole as these issues only happened a few times and didnt really affect my fishing I’d say its a good reel for the price and I’d recommend it. Hope this review helps someone.

For the very reasonable price this is a very well made real. Performs faultlessly, only difference to my shimano is the main drag is front of spool so you can’t change spools as easily. Other than that it’s great!!!
