    I have purchased the 7 ft and a 5’6″ rods. Very happy with them considering the cost great starter rods, The shortest rod is a bit slow and possibly less robust than the 7ft but other than that it is a great little caster and a nice transportable 2 piece.

    When you’re out on the boat beginners sometimes struggle with a 8-9ft+ rod in a limited space. Just swinging a fish onboard can be a bit of an ordeal. I got this rod for my wife who only comes out with me a couple of times a year and it’s been perfect. Sure it may take some of the fun out of fighting lighter fish but it’s also no fun struggling badly with a longer rod. Being rated at 30lb there’s very little you’re likely to catch in the UK that this rod won’t handle and we’ve pulled in plenty of double figure Pollack and specimen Ling with it.
